TPDL 2025: Call for Papers

The 29th International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries (TPDL 2025) will be held in Tampere, Finland, from September 23-26, 2025.

TPDL 2025 specifically reaches out to academic researchers and practitioners in digital libraries in the light of new technological advances. It encourages submissions that showcase innovative, usable, reliable, and sustainable approaches, particularly those pointing to real-world applications and reflecting on their methods' benefits, challenges, and limitations.

Contribution Types

  • Research Papers: (15 pages + unlimited references) Present high-quality, original research relevant to the TPDL community. Submissions should focus on or perspective to Digital Libraries, detailing methods and techniques for replication and reuse. Accepted papers will be published in Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) and presented as long conference talks.
  • Practitioner Papers: (15 pages + unlimited references) Present high-quality applied work relevant to the TPDL community. Submissions should focus on results of direct relevance to practitioners and institutions. Accepted papers will be published in Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) and presented as long conference talks.
  • Short Papers: (Specific page limit not detailed, but implies shorter than research/practitioner papers) Presented as long conference talks. Will be published in LNCS.
  • Demonstrations: For showcasing tools, implementations, or applications.
  • Doctoral Consortium: For doctoral students to present their research.
  • Workshops: Proposals for specific related topics.

Submission Guidelines

  • All submissions must be in the Springer LNCS style. Refer to: Springer LNCS guidelines. However, a direct link to the template is not provided in the text.
  • Submissions must be in PDF format.
  • Submissions must be made using the CMT online submission system: https://cmt3.research.microsoft.com/TPDL2025.
  • When submitting, select the appropriate track, such as "TPDL2025 - Full Papers Track" for research and practitioner papers.
  • Failure to comply with the submission guidelines will lead to direct rejection without review.

Awards

Springer will sponsor the TPDL 2025 Best Paper Award, Best Doctoral Consortium Paper Award, Best Demonstration, and Best Short Paper.
